Cycling Along The Way...

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

Slowly making the CHANGE...

I have begun to build up the Cruzbike Silvio.  The frame is put together with the wheels on the frame.  Today, I took the components off of my Vitus road bike.  Ordered the bottom bracket tool that I need to finish removing the bottom bracket components from the Vitus.  It will be here by Friday.  Once that is done, I will put all the components in a box and take it to Twin Sisters Bicycle shop, where Annie, owner and wrench, will put the components on the Silvio frame.  Hopefully, by next week, I will have a completely built Silvio to ride.

Twin Sisters was my choice for several reasons: 1) I've heard that Annie is an excellent wrench; 2) Her shop is not as hectic as Gila Hike & Bike; 3) I believe that she can devote her attention to building up this recumbent; 4) I want to support both bike shops in town and I used Gila Hike & Bike to build my two other bikes.  Seems fair, IMHO.

Stay tuned for some hilarious videos that I will have Eileen take while I am attempting to learn how to ride this recumbent.  LOL!

Till then, here's a Robert Earl Keen tune to keep you going:
