Cycling Along The Way...

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

BICYCLE GEAR REVIEW: NiteRider Rebel 3.0 Bicycle Computer...a Revisit.

A brief revisit with the NiteRider Rebel 3.0 bicycle computer.
Minoura Besso Mount

NiteRider Rebel 3.0 Bicycle Computer

I've been using it now for about two weeks and I really like it.  Easy to use, easy to reset, and it conserves the battery by going into the "sleep" mode.  It's easy to get it out of the "sleep" mode.  The NiteRider is mounted on a Minoura Besso mount that I purchased.  When I mounted a computer on my handlebars, I couldn't view it easily and it was in my way when I stood up.

One of the things that I'm beginning to really like about this computer is being able to view "speed" and "duration" of the ride, along with "average speed" and "maximum" speed.  It helps me concentrate on time spent on the bike versus "distance" bicycled.  In terms of training, right now, I'm more interested in time spent on the bike.  Distance will come as I improved my time on the Silvio.

A tune for your enjoyment, I hope.  This is a tune that other Geezers will remember from their youth.  LOTS of memories with this tune.  Sonny James singing "Young Love".
