Cycling Along The Way...

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

Too Much Smoke To Ride...

Unfortunately, the weather forecast through the next 10 days shows that the wind will be blowing from the WNW and that means...SMOKE in Silver City.  It also means none to very limited bicycling and that sucks.  Woke up this morning to the heavy smell of smoke and considerable haze throughout the valley here.  With no relief in sight, I may be stuck going to the gym for exercise and take those moments when the air is clearer to ride for as long as I can.

Yesterday's ride was a real plus for me riding the Silvio.  Hard to explain, but I look at riding the recumbent differently and I'm looking forward to improving my skills on the bike.

That's all for today.  A tune to keep you moving... "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones and a very young Mick Jagger and gang:
