Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

Early Morning Bicycle Route With Eileen...

Had stuff to do today...a meeting at 10am re: the Silver City Clay Festival, which is this weekend to finish up last minute details and make certain, well, as certain as one can be with things like this, that all the loose ends are tied up.  Got up at 0630, put on the cycling gear, got the bikes out, and took off for a short loop ride near the house.  The cats were left wondering if they'd been not only not fed, but maybe abandoned, too..?? Weather was very good this morning.  A bit cool, but blue sky and sunny.  Loved it.  It's been a bit warm and humid recently, which is more typical weather this time of the year.  We'd been having more like early Fall weather.  I'd adjusted my handlebars yesterday but didn't get them snugged up tight enough.  On the way down Snake Hill, the bars moved farther down  as I was descending the hill, but not wildly or anything like that.  Thankfully.  Tomorrow morning, we'll ride a bit farther.  I'll keep riding after Eileen heads back to the house so I can do a longer ride.  Up Snake Hill tomorrow..and the 6th St. hill, too.

Got back home safely, made an espresso for Eileen, then headed out to get cat food before the gatos attacked.  Unfortunately, Walmart has the best price on canned cat food, so there I was at 0815 walking around WallyWorld getting cat food still dressed in my cycling clothes.  Always gets people looking at me.

Just a short post for today.  After the clay festival, I'll do some more posts about touring gear.  I promise.  Wait, I promised to do that this week.  Oh, well, I lied.  Not really.  I did mean to get some of that posted but I chose to do other things instead.  So, next week...

A tune to go with...Bob Dylan doing "Like A Rolling Stone"...
