Okay, I'll skip any and all commentary on the above quote other than to say, it's unique, eh? Alright, where was I? Oh, yes, bicycle blogs. Particularly touring blogs. And before I go too much farther, a disclaimer... I'm guilty of what I'm going to go on about here in just a moment.
Blogs that people set up to put all the excitement, photos, commentary, etc., of their tours are great. I love them. My frustration is that people leave them like the proverbial "dangling participle"....all of sudden they stop writing posts and I never know what happens next. As stated above, I'm guilty of doing this, too. From the reader's perspective, this is frustrating. Where'd they go? What'd they do next? Are they still riding? Have they fallen off the planet? Perhaps they were abducted by aliens? WTF? Who knows what happened???
That's my issue...and I'm sticking to it. I really like reading about people's experience on the road...people they meet, situations they encounter, places where they eat, stuff they do, where they camp or stay, other Warmshowers' hosts, all of the aforementioned. It all interests me. So, when someone who's been writing up a storm about their travels gets to the proverbial "end of the road" and they stop posting, I'm left dangling like that participle. Not fun.
So, if you're reading this and you've started a touring blog, please...please....bring it to a cohesive ending. For all of us who have been following you along your travels. I promise that I'll do that the next time I'm on a tour...coming in 2014...and all will be brought to a comprehensive conclusion and not left dangling...!
Enough on this...now, a tune to exit this post with....hmm, ok, what will it be??? Marvin Gaye doing "What's Going On?". Enjoy...
