Well, my glasses arrived today via UPS from Albuquerque. Glad to have glasses again for those times when I don't want to have my contact lenses in. Early morning; late at night.
I have been on my bike each day since Saturday. Gradually increasing my distance. Tomorrow will be a longer ride followed by another one on Friday. Trying to acclimate my legs to riding everyday. Feels good, so far. Still have the noise on my touring bike, but I have narrowed it down to the right side of the bike and in my bottom bracket or pedal. Tomorrow, I hope to narrow it down even more, then take it to Bill at Gila Hike & Bike to get it taken care of.
The new derailleur works great! No cogs skipped when I'm shifting like the old one did, which makes for smoother riding. I'm beginning to feel much stronger in the hills and able to push harder gears, which translates into being able to push the gears with the bike loaded.
The wind is supposed to be almost nil tomorrow and I'm looking forward to a sunny, minimal wind ride in the mountains! Oh, BTW, can you believe that Tina Turner is 70yrs old????? If she knocked on my front door and told me to come with her, I'd be out the door in a flash!!! YIKES! Not forever, but for one night for sure, if I could survive it!!
Ok, here's a little Tina to help you understand why I said that...here she is at age 67!

- Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?
