Cycling Along The Way...

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

For the past 3 days, I've gone to the gym to run on a treadmill.  Boring to some; worth it to me.  Having lifted weights now for 30+yrs and bicycled for almost that many, running seems to be the one other exercise that translates noticeably to bicycling.  The cardiovascular and lung capacity increases are very obvious on the bike.  And, since I'm a tad overweight, which I have been on and off since I was about 11yrs old, running helps me trim some of that excess weight, which also translates well to the bike, especially this recumbent.

Tomorrow, it's time to get back on the Silvio and do a ride with Eileen.  Sunday, I will work on a longer ride, to be determined on Sunday morning after I get out of bed.  No rest for the wicked.  Next week, I will take some photos of the Silvio...I have made a few changes and they seem to be working well.  Maybe this weekend, I can get Eileen to shoot some video of me on the Silvio so people can see how I've improved on it.

In the meantime, here's a tune from a woman who rocks...Annie Lennox.
