Cycling Along The Way...

My photo

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

Lt. Col. Raymond T. Rivas Memorial Ride Update

A little catch up here.  Andrew Rivas, Lt. Col. Raymond T. Rivas's brother, does an annual memorial ride for Ray that starts on Memorial Day weekend.   Andrew rides from Flagstaff, AZ, where he lives, to Las Cruces, NM, where he and their family grew up.  Here are some photos that Andrew sent to me on his arrival in Las Cruces, where he laid a wreath at the wall commemorating the war dead.

I have been fortunate in my life to not have had any of my brothers killed in action or die as the result of war. I am thankful for that.

They served in the same unit in WWII under Gen. George Patton.
The C.O. is in the middle of these two.
