Cycling Along The Way...

Riders of the wheel. Racers, Roadies, Mountain bikers, Touring cyclists, Commuters, and others. Diamond frames, recumbents, trikes, and more. Sharing a web of connections often misunderstood or unappreciated by those who don't ride. Herewith, my attempt to share some of the more rational thoughts that flit around inside my head while bicycling, knocking back a brew or three, or just thinking about life. Reviews of bicycles, gear, touring, and more, plus some unsolicited posts about people, politics, and philosophy. Other things, too. Me: retired, gave up my TV in 1988, avid cyclist, several cross country tours completed with more to come. Your thoughts?

My Butt is SORE..!

Well, Neil, I finally took your advice and got some Tegaderm to put on the road rash/burn.  The wound itself is doing well, but I needed something to protect the wound and to keep it from sticking to things when I sat down.  So far; so good.  Thanks.  I was a bit hesitant at first to use it since I knew that I'd be too chicken to debride it to the extent that it needed.  Keeping it clean, letting it heal, and seeing that it was not infected convinced me that now would be a good time to cover it because the chance of infection is diminished significantly.  The Tegaderm feels good.  The wound and the bruised areas still hurt but not like it did before. The road to recovery is always long while traveling it, eh?

Eileen and I did a short ride around town today.  We've had rain now for two or three days in a row, which is good.  Today, the temps were in the 70's, with cloud cover and rain.  Now, it's cloudy, humid, and may rain again tonight.  Quite a drop in temp from the 100 degrees not even three days ago or so.
